martin stuart law, in the name, occurring twice, the word ‘art’ and supple artistry was evident from the beginning.  In his home town, Countesthorpe, he was esteemed as illustrator of a popular book series by Joan Kent - her tales of childhood on a farm in the area, and it was natural that his course would take him through Fine Art studies into the profession, with continual commission of drawings for diverse purposes and publications.

Visits to the grand piano in Bantry’s historical, stately home began in
2002.
". . . I learned to play on this piano, an hour a week over ten seasons.
I didn’t own a piano, don’t read music, don’t have a repertoire."
Through the years, myriad visitors from around the globe have stepped into martin’s ambient moment of spontaneous sounding.

Saturday, 8 October, 2011, a location recording garnered three hours of piano takes now produced as the 2012 'eco music factory' audio CD, 'tracing ten summers'.  martin’s tracing, 'oak in february' adorns the jacket of this release, which follows after the well received audio compilation 'eden fields' where martin, as singer, song-writer, renders his Earthy compositions in voice and acoustic guitar.

martin sojourned in Europe and across The Isles, but it was West Cork that was to situate his cultural recognition, and become home.  At the turn into 2001, martin was named  'rainbowmaker'.  He is known as a professional purveyor of :

"sounds. colours, sticks and stones.
rhyme. rhythm. sea-washed bones.
tracings. sketches. strokes and skies.
inspiration, ears and eyes.
roots. bark. leaves, feathers.
dark. light. clouds, all weathers.
voice, keys. resonance. strings.
script, symbols. primitive things.
 sacred geometry. poetic cadence.
improvisation, harmony. radiance.
simplicity, silence, meditation.
non-duality. contemplation."

martin rainbowmaker has recently taken to blogging, with his writings integral hue through colour-filled, creative acuity. And again on Sundays this summer season, he may be at the keys of the grand piano. " deantoir na tuar ceatha - rainbowmaker "!
